Which one to buy - e-scooter or e-bike?
In previous blogs, we talked about e-bikes and e-scooter, but here we will compare the two and show their real-world functionality.
E-scooters
- affordable
- light (7-12 kg)
- designed for smooth surfaces such as asphalt and tiles
- easy to carry and transport, allowed in public transport
In the following examples you can find situations suitable for e-scooters:
- you live 5-10 km away from your work
- you often get stuck in traffic and trip to work takes too long
- you live farther from your work and use e-scooter in combination with public transport
E-scooters are a great way to live the e-mobility lifestyle with little money. In most countries, e-scooters are completely legal with no special restrictions.
E-bikes
- more expensive than e-scooters
- usually heavier than conventional bikes (14-30 kg)
- can ride on any terrain (depending on the frame and tire type)
In the following examples you can find situations suitable for e-bikes:
- transport from home to work, even if you live 20-30 km from your work
- long rides and offroad terrain rides- folding e-bikes are very portable and can enter public transport
- hills
E-bikes do not need insurance if their top speed is 25 km/h and they can always be used as regular bikes.
